Dear Friends,


We are Mother-to-Mother-Peer-Support (MMPS) from Penang, a group of volunteer mothers helping other mothers to manage and sustain breastfeeding for their babies exclusively in the first six months and to continue with complementary feeding for two years and beyond as recommended by WHO. Our efforts are on-going since 2006 and we meet mothers-to-be every first Saturday of the month at Koala Kids Enrichment Centre, YMCA,Penang.



Every year the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) and UNICEF holds an event called the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) during the first week of August to promote breastfeeding worldwide. MMPS uses this opportunity to reach out to families by holding the “One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding” event where many mothers breastfeed their babies simultaneously for one minute together at the same time. We were able to hit a record of 365 mothers’ breastfeeding simultaneously last year and this time around we hope to hit more.

This event is opened for everyone (dads, moms, moms-to-be, kids, grandparents, teenagers and even singles).......we really mean it! and if you are a breastfeeding mom you could be join in for the One-Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding. Our event will be conducted in a "baby friendly environment" where we have arranged some activities (like drawing and coloring) to keep the kids entertained throughout the event.



Please feel free to disseminate this to your family and friends so that we could reach to a larger audience of mothers to be educated about breastfeeding.


Admission is free and we are providing refreshment for everyone! Come have fun and join us in making history!
