Aku..Hang..

Do you think by addressing yourself as ‘aku’ in conversation is rude ?

What do u usually use to refer yourself when talking ?

For me, most of the time with friends I’ll use Dayah as ganti diri. But at office, I use ‘saya’. New friend also I use ‘saya’. And I with close frens I use ‘aku’. Some close friend can still hearing me expressing myself as Dayah with them. Depends …

‘Aku’ also is used by me when to create a situation that I’m talking to a close, sekepala fren even we don’t even see each other.

For northern people, ‘aku’ is not rude ( unless how you throw the sentence- if your are angry, arguing or cursing someone you use aku, of coz it sounds very rude.).

‘Aku’ shows how close you are with the person. You cans till find some orang tua kampong –parents use aku when talking to their child in normal conversation. If u happened to listen it, do not think that they do not respect each other but this is the way they talk.

Utara people synonym with ‘aku’ ‘hang’ in their daily conversation . Do you guys from central or southern region find it rude. ?? Well, orang utagha bahasanya kasaq. See, people pronouns as kasar but we pronouns as ‘kasaq’. Sounds very rough kan ! Huhuhu

But it doesn’t mean we are ‘kasaq’ people. Only the way we talk… we are still lemah gemalai…( eheks)

When I met other frens from all over Malaysia, not all use ‘saya’, awak’. Some use ‘ko’ ‘aku’. At first I thought people out of northen region talk in lemah lembut but actually the same lah hooo…. Utagha people don’t use ‘kau’ or ko’ ( sungguh pelik kalau ada yang berkata begitu) instead we use ‘hang’..

Well, if u see me using ‘aku’ ‘hang’. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to be rude. Is just they way to show we are intimate ( ahaks !)

akak tetap dok maintain 'aku-hang'.. itulah jatidiri orang utagha seperti akak ni. sebut 'saya' lenggok utagha ni macam best sket dari 'saye' lenggok lain. sebenaqnya bukan kasaq, tapi oghang utagha ni peghamah (+ kalut tak boleh blah)! hehehehe...

anyway, akak asal Perak utara. bahasa utara bleh, bahasa Perak bleh, bahasa Banjar bleh sesikit. paih tu tambah dengan English. semo cacamarba.

Dayah,
Selain daripada asal usul & background seseorang kan, saya rasa peribadi orang tue sendiri pon memainkan peranan juga.

Macam saya org Melaka, which mmg well-known Melaka-rian nie mmg cakap kasar. Certain areas tue, kalau org dtg umah, depa 'maki hamun tahap gaban', tp, sebenarnya greetings tue. Sadis kan? Hahaha. Ader jer my frens yg laki bini pon cakap aku-ko, siap selalu bercekak (bergaduh) jer sbb takleh mengalah dua2. Kasar tue jgn cakaplah.

Anyway, beberapa orang kawan saya, especially di waktu2 awal perkenalan, tak percaya bila saya cakap saya org Melaka. They said, "Arnie nie lain la...". Dgn kata lain, mak nie lembut laaa. Auwwww. ekekeke.

Oh, my MIl cakap aku-ko jer dgn anak menantu dier. But, I don't find it rude. Rasa lebih mesra. Style org Jawa kot. :)

for me, aku hang or aku ko tu ok utk kita. nak pulak kalo dah rapat kan. tp kalo di kalangan ahli keluarga, no aku2 ye. but we still using hang sbb dah biasa. tp to address ourself, we use our name...

sya klu dgn close fren mmg beraku-engkau aje laa.. klu dgn new fren, lebih selesa bahasakan diri dgn nama sendiri..

klu kat ofis, dgn org atasan bahasakan saya.. tp dgn kengkawan ofis, aku-engkau jugakk.. tgk umo laa..

semuanya ikut kesesuian dan keselesaan kita.. tak semestinya, beraku-engkau ni kurang ajar / kasar..

abg sya mmg pantang kita ckp ngan dia aku-engkau.. dia kata mcm takde respek.. so, dgn dia mmg bahasakan diri SYA laa sejak kecik.. dgn adik tak pulak.. aku engkau je sbb sya pon tak kisah sgt.. in fact rasa lebih mesra alam.. hehehe..
